Bog Hag:

the wisdom of waterlogged ecosystems

INTRODUCTION

Our ceremony will take us to the misty edge of the Otherworld and open our senses to what lives in liminality. We’ll explore the ecosystem of the bog, lore of the hag, and ways to tune in to our own oracular Bog Hag to affirm our sovereignty and inner authority.

This ceremony will be interactive, so it is highly encouraged that you join us live and share the wisdom of your inner bog hag!

Bog Hag

For those who traverse the shadows and dare not turn away from what lurks in the dark, you likely know the wisdom of the bog hag. Current trends and anti-aging culture reject this figure of fearlessness and embodied wisdom, but we call her close knowing the value of her role in our lives and the world. Our ancestral wisdom traditions speak of the hag and her relationship to the land…and so will we.

We gather as the untamed mystics, artists, community architects, and sovereign leaders creating a world of coherence for now and for generations to follow. We do not wait to be given instructions for what to do and where to go, so we gather together to scheme, to inspire, to dream, and to collaborate.

We are made for these times and do not look away, instead we acknowledge how we are each resourced to provide meaningful contributions to our communities.

Our devotion to our relational, interconnected nature informs our decisions and actions.

As part of this devotion, we turn our attention to the ecosystem of the bog and the wisdom of the hag to listen to the stories residing in this water-soaked place of preservation.

The lore of this quaking landscape and of the wise old hag warn us of getting too close— but what if we dare to proceed with respect? What wisdom and power has the system of control been deterring us from encountering?

What to Expect

There’s no experience, nor a developed relationship with the Bog Hag necessary to join us. Let your curiosity guide you into this gathering and know we will be traveling together in a space of shared respect, reverence, and collaboration.
